These situations include when the user withdraws consent to processing based on consent, when the user objects to the processing in accordance with certain provisions of the applicable data protection law, when the processing is done for direct marketing purposes, and when the user's personal data have been processed unlawfully. However, there are exclusions. The general exclusions include where processing is necessary:
